If buildings could talk, Burtons Chambers in Accrington would have a lot of stories to tell.

Built in 1927, the Art Deco building on Blackburn Road has been part of the town centre for almost a century. Sitting opposite Accrington Town Hall, it started life as a busy commercial building with shops on the ground floor, offices above, and people coming and going all day long.

Burtons Chambers: From 1920s Offices to 2020s Coworking

In many ways, it was the coworking space of its time.

As part of the wider regeneration of Accrington town centre, we’re genuinely so excited to bring Burtons Chambers back to life. Alongside exciting projects like the transformation of the Market Hall into a new food and drink destination and the redevelopment of Market Chambers as a cultural space, we’ll be opening a brand-new coworking and flexible office space inside Burtons Chambers.

It’ll give freelancers, startups, small businesses, growing and established teams a modern place to work right in the centre of Accrington.

With nods to it’s art dec history, the site will have a range of:

✔ Flexible desks
✔ Small and large private offices available between 1-5 days a week
✔ Meeting rooms bookable by the hour, half day or full day

We’ll be a community of local businesses and a workspace teams actually want to come to.

Hybrid working has changed how we work forever. People want flexibility, community, and somewhere between the kitchen table and a long commute.

Spaces like ours make that possible.

Burtons Chambers has been part of Accrington’s story for nearly 100 years. We’re excited to help write the next part, one filled with new businesses, new ideas, and plenty of great coffee (if we do say so ourselves).
